INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 20, 2008) - The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) is now accepting applications for the position of head coach for the USASA National Amateur Women’s Team.

Applications, with coaching background and references, should be forwarded to the USASA Administrator at 9152 Kent Avenue, Suite C-50, Indianapolis, IN 46216, no later than December 19, 2008.  USASA will select a pool of candidates to interview and make a final decision by January 5, 2009.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) – USASA would like to announce its newest program, the Recharge Team of the Year Award. 

The Recharge Team of the Year Award rewards teams for their outstanding service off the field through volunteer work, service projects, fundraisers and for promoting the game of soccer throughout their community. 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) – At the Midyear Meeting in San Antonio, Demosphere and USASA held two workshops geared towards Online Registration.

The first session was focused on the National Registration System that’s been in place since 2006. Currently, there are over 80,000 registered players in the system with 25+ associations represented in some capacity.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) – The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) entered into a multi-year agreement with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), the largest coaches’ organization in the United States.

The USASA-NSCAA partnership is based upon a promotional and marketing agreement.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) – On the weekend of October 24th, the US Adult Soccer Association proved that co-ed soccer in the United States is vastly growing. The association offers a national tournament for all the affiliated co-ed leagues that want to play just for fun. 

Although the competition was on a two-year hiatus, the 2008 Coed Cup came back much stronger. The championship was held on October 24-26 at the Russell Creek Park in Dallas, TX, and it was jointly hosted by the North Texas State Soccer Association and the USASA.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) - The 2008 Midyear Meeting and Workshops, held in San Antonio, TX, was a great success.

The four-day event kicked off Thursday, October 9 with an evening soiree to welcome US Adult Soccer administrators, coaches, referees and Hall of Fame members. The gathering was sponsored by AIG Insurance and capped off with a year in review slideshow of various US Adult Soccer Events such as the National Cups and Veteran’s Cup.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (November 6, 2008) - The United States Adult Soccer Association will hold the 2009 Veteran’s Cup on July 7-12 in Lancaster, Massachusetts. Play is offered for women’s and men’s teams from Over-30 to Over-60.

Each team that enters the event is guaranteed three 90-minute matches.  In each division prize money of $750 is given for first place winners and $250 for second place finishers.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 6, 2008) - This summer I appointed Fritz Marth to chair an ad-hoc insurance committee to bid out USASA’s insurance, each regional director appointed a member of the committee from their region. The Executive Committee voted to hire an insurance consultant (John Sadler) to assist and advise the committee in their task.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 6, 2008) - The USASA Executive Committee has approved changes to the National Cups competitions beginning 2008-2009. These changes and the established competitions were recommended after careful consideration by the National Cups Committee.

These considerations included recent participation in all cups, the wishes and needs of the participating clubs and teams, as well as the wishes and needs of all USASA members. 

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (October 6, 2008) - A couple of months ago, the USASA introduced the very first membership survey to members and friends of soccer. The online survey allowed feedback about the associations, programs and adult soccer topics. The USASA thanks you for taking the time to answering all the questions; answers which are being reviewed, so that the organization can make improvements in the near future, for your benefit.
