LC Soccer is proud to present an exciting new youth tournament to the Charleston soccer scene, the Lowcountry 3v3 Challenge. The event, to be held on June 7-8, is affiliated with the Challenge 3v3 Tour and will act as a qualifier for the Challenge 3v3 Nationals (July 31 - Aug 2, 2008) at the Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, FL. Charleston Southern University will act as the host site thanks to the support of Eric Terrill, CSU Women's Coach.
It is said that the greatest teacher of soccer is the game itself. The simple game of 3v3 soccer does just that, which a big reason why so many people are attracted to the format. "As a young boy growing up in Denmark and Central America, my brother and I played pickup soccer like 3v3 all of the time; at school with a tennis ball, after school on any open grass field, or with the Guatemalan boys in the mountains when we visited our grandmother in Panajachel, Guatemala." says Kenyon Cook, with LC Soccer. "This is soccer at its purest, but not nearly enough of players (youth and adult) in our country are playing 3v3. We invite the area's youth soccer players to join us for some SOCCER FUN."
The tournament is for Boys & Girls ages U6-U18. Each age group will offer both a recreation and competitive division. Teams are guaranteed 4 matches. For more details CLICK HERE.
